COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTS

Groups and programs in my community that I am involved in.

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts of Central and Southern Jersey

I've been a girl scout since third grade, and I am currently at the Ambassador level. Alongside my troop, I host events for younger scouts such as Thinking Day and supply drives. I volunteer with organizations including Womenspace and the YMCA, and I attend workshops on leadership. Girl Scouts inspired me to apply technology to social good, because I learned how to effect change right in my community. For my Silver Award two years ago, I created a board game that teaches players sustainable habits and eco-stewardship. I taught myself GIMP and Photoshop to design game cards, and I learned Excel to organize my data. I presented my game to PDS students and at the Princeton Community Night Out, and I got a shoutout from Sustainable Princeton.

Computer Science and Technology Club

Princeton Day School

I am President of Princeton Day School's computer science club with over 50 members. Together, we build project for the community, commission gigs, host community-wide tech events, and attend robotics and coding competitions. We qualified for the international level in MIT Zero Robotics last year, and we had a ton of fun working with teams across the country and in Italy. We also hold discussions on the role of tech in our society, such as how AI advancements could reshape the world. We are currently planning a hackathon and building a website to host senior projects.

SiMS Mentor

Princeton Day School

I am a mentor for Success in Math and Science at PDS, and I work with students in math, science, and technology. I help with both homework and test prep, and I love watching students gain confidence in their abilities and grow as a student.

Teacher's Assistant Program

Princeton Day School

I worked under fourth grade tech coordinator Ms. Olson to teach fourth graders how to code. Soon, I was running lessons entirely on my own in Hopscotch and Swift Playgrounds. TAP taught me so much about patience and encouragement, and I learned how to connect with my students and help them push beyond their comfort zones. They created some amazing projects, and they carried these newfound skills and interests with them throughout middle school.

Aspirations in Computing

National Center for Women & Information Technology

I am a member of Aspirations in Computing from the National Center for Women & Information Technology. AiC is a network of students and professional women to provide mentorship, advice, and opportunities in technology fields. I have formed lasting connections with so many amazing women in technology through AiC, and the community always motivates me to keep doing what I love.

Volunteer

The Watershed Institute

I volunteer at the Stonybrook Millstone Watershed Institute and help run their many engaging events related to sustainability and water conservation. This is a photo from the Fairy Festival.

Energy and Climate Scholars

Princeton University & Princeton Day

Energy and Climate Scholars is a partnership between Princeton University and Princeton Day School. I collaborated with Princeton Graduate students to discuss environmental engineering, eco justice, current events, and the role of individuals and corporations in creating a green future. We also organized events for other students such as the PDS Climate Conference.
